Biogas and Biomass CHP Project Studies
| Our expertise within bio energy projects covers a very broad area from small bio energy heat-only boiler plants to large regional district heating power plants based on bio energy.
Compared to normal CHP plants operating on natural gas, preparation of studies for bio energy plants differ within the following fields: |
![]() |
Biomass projects: The electrical production at biomass projects is normally influenced by long start-up and shutting-down periods when the steam pressure is either built up or reduced. During these periods, the plant will only produce heat, but no electricity. By using computer models, when simulating the operation of the biomass CHP plant, we are able to include the effects of the reduced electricity production in our economic studies of the projects.
Biogas projects: Biogas is normally supplied to the CHP unit from the biogas storage at an anaerobic digester plant. When preparing a feasibility study for a biogas CHP project, it is therefore important to investigate whether the biogas storage is able to supply the quantity of gas required for the operation of the CHP unit in the periods when production is planned. By making computer models of the planned operation of the plant, we are able to give you precise answers to this and many other issues.
